Wesley Johnson II

Alumni Chaplain, Assistant Director of Chaplaincy & Community Formation

Wes Johnson embodies the roles of communicator, coach, consultant, mentor, and advocate for the intrinsic worth of every person. His focus on coaching and spiritual formation stems from a belief in their profound impact on individuals' journeys. Through authentic conversations, Wes has empowered people of all ages in the US, England, and Africa to rediscover their value and lead purposeful lives, with a unique emphasis on supporting Black males.

As the author of "Soulful Reflections: Navigating Black Male Pangs, the Path to Self-Discovery," Wes offers a journal as a resource for Black males seeking self-discovery and growth.

Wes' personal journey drives his commitment to engaging with colleges, sports teams, camps, churches, and community leaders to leave a lasting legacy of impact. As a former pastor and director of pastoral care, he continues to champion human dignity, spiritual flourishing, equity, and justice, and encouraging others to embrace reflection and empathy.

With degrees in biblical studies/pastoral ministry and organizational leadership and decades of ministry experience, Wes eagerly anticipates participating in the ongoing spiritual care and personal growth of the Palmer community and all Church leaders through CARES and its Flourishing Leader Project. He finds joy in his marriage to Dionne and cherishes their four young adult children.
