May 23, 2013 - Nearly 100 graduates were recognized at Palmer Theological Seminary’s 2013 commencement, held at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church in Philadelphia, PA, on May 18. Palmer Seminary Commencement
Twenty-seven students received a certificate or diploma from Eastern’s School of Christian Ministry/Priscilla Institute, 21 received a Master of Theological Studies (M.T.S.) degree, 41 received a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree, and 7 received a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degree in Leadership of Missional Church Renewal. Addressing the graduates in a speech entitled The Church: God’s Social Revolution was Dr. Mimi R. Haddad, President of Christians for Biblical Equality.Palmer Seminary CommencementDr. Haddad stressed the importance of servanthood and leaning out toward the marginalized and disenfranchised, many of whom – like the Samaritan woman and the Syrophoenician woman in the Gospels – showed great faith in recognizing Jesus as the Christ.
Palmer Seminary Commencement Palmer Theological Seminary awarded an honorary Doctorate of Divinity degree to Dr. Haddad for her work and commitment to gender justice.

Dr. Christopher Hall and the faculty recognized the officers of the 2012-13 Student Assembly for all of the work done to foster community for their fellow students in Palmer’s temporary location in King of Prussia.

On behalf of faculty, Dr. George Hancock-Stefan thanked Dr. Hall for his leadership of the Seminary throughout the past three years as he will be transitioning back to Eastern University’s St. Davids campus this summer.
