Jennifer Gardener-Schoch

A grace filled relationship with Jesus, love of the Bible, and for people led me to pursue an MDiv and MBA in Social Impact in 2019. I am both humbled and excited to serve in the role of Secretary for the Student Assembly providing record preservation, communication, and coordination. Being a wife, mother, sister, and an orphan adopted by a loving family, I bring my whole self to this group of Gods’ faithful united in theological study at Palmer. For much of my life, I worshipped with a Lutheran congregation. During the pandemic I felt called to move my worship and service to The Salvation Army in West Philadelphia. My career spans the hospitality sector and non-profit fundraising. I enjoy time with my family, outdoor activities, gardening, music, conversations around race and ethnicity with NewCORE Philly, and impact investing. One of my favorite things to do is meet over a cup of coffee to listen to a person share their faith and life stories and for me to share mine. I seek to learn where we may be able to support and pray for each other. As you travel along this seminary journey please know I am always happy to connect at:

I’d like to share a prayer that has meant so much to me at this point in my seminary studies. It is one Jesus prayed shortly before his crucifixion: “I am not praying just for these followers. I am also praying for everyone else who will have faith because of what my followers will say about me. I want all of them to be one with each other, just as I am one with you and you are one with me. I also want them to be one with us. Then the people of this world will believe that you have sent me.” John 17:20-21CEV
