What do you enjoy the most about Palmer?
I think the thing I enjoy most about Palmer is the holistic approach to preparing for ministry. The classes build on one another and provide a comprehensive education, focusing on spiritual formation, critical thinking, content, and practical skills.
How has Palmer impacted your faith?
I feel challenged to live my faith to the full, stretching into new areas of ministry. Conversations and friendships with my classmates have also shown me new ways of living out faith in all of my life decisions. Coming to classes at Palmer has been inspiring!
Why did you pick Palmer?
I chose Palmer, because I was looking for an American Baptist Seminary. It's the denomination that fits me well, combining my faith heritage with space to explore and grow. I appreciate the diversity of students and the support that women in ministry receive at Palmer.
What are your plans after you graduate?
I am not sure what I will do after earning my Master of Divinity degree. Right now, I feel drawn toward becoming a pastor, but I am also considering the possibility of serving as a professor. I love both teaching and preaching and have a heart for pastoral care.
What advice do you have for students considering Palmer?
If a person is considering Palmer, I think it would be a great idea to spend a day meeting current students, talking with a professor or two, perhaps even sampling a class. Palmer is like a family, and we're happy to meet other people who are seeking to follow God's call on their lives.
