Ruth Rodríguez
Pastor Ruth Eunice Rodríguez de Orantes is a pastor and Clinical Psychologist born in the city of San Salvador, El Salvador. She lived her childhood during a military dictatorship and her youth amid the civil war in El Salvador during the 1980s. Born and raised in the First Baptist Church of San Salvador, Pastor Ruth Eunice received her call to the pastoral ministry at the age of 20 years old and would pursue her theological studies at the Baptist Theological Institute of El Salvador (1985-1987). In the early 1990s, she studied at the Ecumenical Institute of Postgraduate Studies in Religious Sciences at the Methodist University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Upon her return from Brazil to El Salvador, Pastor Ruth Eunice completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology and in 2023 she graduated from the Master's degree in Theological Studies (MTS) Latino/a Ministries at Palmer Theological Seminary of Eastern University.
Ruth began her ministry coordinating the Women's Ministry at her home church, and later, would have the opportunity to serve as missionary with the United Church of Christ (UCC) in the state of Illinois, USA. Pastor Ruth Eunice has taught at the Latin American Baptist Seminary and the Baptist College of the city of Santa Ana. In April of 2025, Pastor Rodriguez will be celebrating 25 years of pastoral ministry at the Shekina Baptist Church in Santa Ana, El Salvador.
Pastor Ruth Eunice is a proud Baptist pastor who has developed her pastoral ministry with a deep commitment to ecumenism, peace and social justice; as such she supports the full participation of women, youth and children in the life and mission of the church in El Salvador and elsewhere.
Pastor Ruth Eunice is part of the Council of Baptist Pastors of Latin America, the Ecumenical Women for Peace-El Salvador, and the Popular Bible Scholars Movement. She is also a proud mother to his 29-year-old son, Victor Hugo.
