Dr. Fleshman is an Adjunct Professor of Spiritual Formation at Eastern University, teaching both undergraduate and seminary students. Her doctoral thesis focused on the shift from performance to presence as a paradigm for ministers. Her interests include Biblical meditation practices, the integration of spiritual and other lifegiving practices into everyday life, and the intersection of spiritual formation and vocation in career, ministry or leadership development.
Dr. Fleshman graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with her bachelor’s degree in computer science and earned master’s degrees from New York University’s Stern School of Business and Westminster Theological Seminary. A lifelong learner, she obtained additional theological training at Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia and received a Doctor of Ministry degree in Spiritual Transformation from Northern Seminary in 2015.
Dr. Fleshman was ordained at the Baptist Worship Center, where she has served in various roles such as Associate Pastor of Christian Education and Director of the Bible Institute under the leadership of Bishop Millicent Hunter. In addition, she serves on the board of Fellowship of Women Clergy. As a bi-vocational minister, she facilitates career development for students and alumni preparing for social impact careers at the University of Pennsylvania. She enjoys writing, teaching, and coaching on spiritual and vocational wellness.
Most of all, Dr. Fleshman is a beloved daughter of God who has truly experienced the reality that she “does not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
