Doris García

Missionary and Seminary Professor Serving in Latin America


Dr. Doris Garcia is a proud Puerto Rican woman, Afro-descendant, and a mother of three wonderful adult children. She enjoys science fiction, writing, and listening to music. Dr. García is especially interested in cross-cultural relationships, Ancient Middle Eastern culture, and the analysis of prophetic speech. Her commitment to teaching, interculturalism, education, Christian service, human rights and peace has led her to various professional and educational contexts. As a missionary, she developed theological, educational programs for youth, adults, indigenous, and afro-descendant women in Mexico and Costa Rica.

Dr. Doris García currently serves as the Academic Coordinator for the Pathways for Tomorrow Grant at Lexington Theological Seminary, where she helps to build post-secondary programs for racially and ethnically disadvantaged people. She is also adjunct faculty teaching Hebrew Bible, Missions, and Evangelization.
