Jamal Madison
Jamal Madison is a dedicated follower of Christ who has been called to the ministry. His testimony is built around the profound experience of God's grace in his life, which has instilled in him a deep and unwavering faith in Christ. His journey began when his grandmother introduced him to Christ at the tender age of nine, and he vividly recalls experiencing a powerful vision of Christ at that time, which has since been a guiding light of his faith.
His calling to the ministry was further ignited during his time in the military, where he fervently shared the gospel with fellow soldiers. This sense of divine purpose eventually led him to pursue a career as a U.S. Army Chaplain, a decision that was deeply rooted in prayer and family support. Jamal's journey has brought him to Palmer Theological Seminary, where he has spent the past four years experiencing not just academic learning, but also spiritual growth.
He looks forward this year to applying his knowledge in practical ways in what it would mean to connect to the "Academy to the Streets"—as the theme of the 2024 Mitchell Lecture and becoming a better steward of God's vineyard. In addition to his dedication to the ministry, Jamal is a loving husband to Dominique of 12 years and a proud father of five children: Harmony, Melody, Jamal Jr., Joshua, and Joy-Marie. When he's not pursuing his passion for serving God and studying, Jamal can be found enjoying quality time at home with his family or cheering on his favorite basketball teams.
