As we commemorate 100 years of faith, ministry, education, and transformative leadership, we invite you to a once-in-a-century worship experience that will bring together alumni, students, faculty, and friends in a powerful gathering of praise, reflection, and recommitment to our mission.
Date & Time: Saturday, March 15th, 11:00 AM – Centennial Worship Service
Location: Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2800 West Cheltenham Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19150
This extraordinary service will celebrate our legacy through soul-stirring music, the centennial choir, dynamic speakers, and meaningful moments of remembrance and recommitment.
A Worship Experience to Remember
The service will open with a stirring prelude on the pipe organ, setting a reverent and joyful tone. The Eastern University Chapel Worship Team will lead us in praise followed by a warm welcome by our President, Dr. Ronald Mathews.
We will also extend greetings from distinguished leaders, including representatives from various denominations, state officials, and other guests. Special acknowledgments will recognize former presidents, deans, academic leaders, as well as alumni serving in ministry.
Music, Dance, and Powerful Preaching
Our hearts will be lifted through powerful selections by the Centennial Choir, along with a liturgical dance performance by Legends Dance Company.
We will then hear from four dynamic speakers as well as Shane Claiborne, who will inspire us with reflections on our centennial theme:
Speaker 1 – Anchored in Faith – Rev. Dr. J. Wendell Mapson, Jr.
Speaker 2 – Empowered by the Spirit – Dr. Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove
Speaker 3 – Planted and Flourishing – Rev. Dr. Adalia Guiterrez-Lee
Between the messages, the Centennial 100 Voice Choir will lead us in songs of worship, reminding us of God’s faithfulness across generations.
As we reflect on the past 100 years, we will also look ahead with a moment of rededication, inviting all attendees to recommit to the mission and future of Eastern University and Palmer Theological Seminary and College.
