This fall, the Flourishing Leader Project (FLP), an initiative of CARES at Palmer Theological Seminary, is introducing a range of new and renewed offerings designed to support the spiritual, emotional, and vocational health of ministry leaders. These efforts are grounded in FLP’s core mission: Healthy Leaders, Healthy Churches, Healthy Communities.
Among the new offerings is a weekly Facebook Live series, featuring brief, engaging conversations with pastors, scholars, and ministry practitioners. These sessions aim to offer encouragement, theological insight, and practical support for leaders navigating the complexities of ministry today. Whether you’re tuning in during lunch or catching up later in the week, each episode is designed to inspire and uplift.
Also launching this fall is Flourishing in the Field, a new in-person initiative that brings FLP directly into local churches and communities. The inaugural event will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2025, hosted by Rev. James K. P. Williams and First Baptist Church of Philadelphia. The day will include soul-tending workshops, interactive conversations, and a mobile version of FLP’s Resource Hub. Additional stops will be announced throughout the year, extending the impact and accessibility of this work.
On September 10, FLP will debut the Soul Care Provider Spotlight, a monthly series featuring interviews with professionals in spiritual direction, counseling, and holistic wellness. These pre-recorded conversations will be shared across FLP’s digital platforms and offer a unique opportunity for these providers to share their gifts with a broader ministry audience. While the series does not include an honorarium, it offers meaningful visibility for participants and valuable insight for those seeking trusted support.
The online learning component of FLP is also growing. This fall, the Thinkific platform will feature a new slate of brief, self-paced courses tailored to the needs of clergy, lay leaders, and faith-based professionals. Each course is designed to be accessible, practical, and rooted in real ministry contexts, helping leaders grow in knowledge and resilience at their own pace. All courses are available at palmer.thinkific.com.
Beyond local and online offerings, FLP is strengthening denominational collaborations. This fall, the team will present at the Suburban Baptist Association Annual Session, and in spring 2026, will partner with the American Baptist Churches of Connecticut for a special clergy training event. These engagements reflect the project’s growing commitment to equipping leaders across traditions and communities.
Through partnerships with networks like PEKBA and others, the Flourishing Leader Project remains dedicated to cultivating spaces where leaders can thrive. With this new season of offerings, the invitation is clear: come and flourish with us.
