Palmer to host the XIV Orlando Costas Conference on Oct. 5

Elizete LimaOn Saturday, October 5th from 12:30 pm- 3:15 pm (EST), Palmer Theological Seminary will celebrate the XIV Orlando E. Costas Conference. Palmer Seminary is very excited to have the participation of latinx practitioners and scholars such as Doris García Ph.D, Elizete (Zazá) Lima (image right), MOD and Rev. Ruth Rodriguez, MTS as part of a panel addressing the participation of women in the development of the Mission Integral in Latin America and the USA.

The Orlando E. Costas Lectureship was established to honor the work of the late missiologist and theologian who died in 1987 at the age of 45. He is remembered for his passionate advocacy for the voiceless and oppressed. He left a major mark on a number of Latino/a scholars, having written 14 books and contributed to 17 additional books and 40 journals. 

Dr. Costas’ life of scholarship has paved the way for many Latino/a scholars. 

The Conference will be held virtually via Zoom, Youtube live and Facebook live.
